WHAT WE BUILT

• What we built

  A rhythm practice app for deaf and hard-of-hearing musicians. It shows what to play with colour and shape, and makes the moment to strike felt through vibration.

• What it does

  The student plays with the keyboard, touch or a microphone; the app reports how far the timing drifted, in milliseconds. A teacher runs classes, assignments and the term report from the same place.

• The problem it solves

  Not being able to practise rhythm without hearing the sound. Practice runs on sight and touch instead; twelve Turkish usul were added after verification against at least two sources each. It installs on the phone and works offline.

• How long it took

  The first version was built in one night shift; the product continues to be developed in house at SilverOps.
